Evolutionary algorithms, such as genetic algorithms have been used in various optimization problems. In this paper, we propose to apply algorithm obtain the layout design/redesign order improve patient flow an outpatient clinic. Layout designs are planned considering long-term requirements whereas keeps modifying per short-term demands. Over a period of time, often does not remain efficient. Therefore, there is need for model that helps decision making on redesigns, and it must also optimize workflow by incorporating constraints. study, minimize waiting times obtaining optimal sub-optimal designs. A implemented redesign layouts based changing dynamics demand, clinical pathways services offered. The simulated with current optimized layouts, results terms time cycle compared. study shows when design or incorporate along associated constraints, improves patients distance between departments/locations translated travelling overall travel distance/time minimized rearranging allocations departments location through algorithms.
